SUMMER PROGRAM

Educational, interactive session for schools

Go on a discovery adventure with our caretakers. Marvel at our animals from the first row! First, you’ll see a presentation in the sea lion theatre. Afterwards, you’ll visit the dolphinarium. During this performance, you’ll learn about the lives of dolphins and sea lions in a fun way. We’ll also teach you about marine mammals in general. You’ll not only learn about their life here in the dolphinarium, but also about their life in the wild. Our team’s pedagogical training means that this educational, interactive performance guarantees an excellent teaching package that aligns with the official curricula.
The cherry on top is that the whole school can have their picture made with the dolphins! It’s a great souvenir to show family and friends.

The teacher will be e-mailed educational work sheets in advance, so they and their students can prepare for the educational program in class.

Reservation information

• Date: any school day in May or June (not on Wednesdays)
• Duration: 1 hour (Dutch from 10:30 to 11:30 & French from 12:00 to 13:00)
• Capacity: 350 participants maximum
• Price: €3.50 p.p. (excluding park ticket. A park ticket is required)
  1 free attendant for every 15 paying students.

WINTER PROGRAM

Package A: Training and working with animals

In this educational presentation, our caretakers will tell you all about how they train the dolphins. The foundation of their training is positive reinforcement. How do you start training? Why exactly do they train the animals? Do you always reward with fish or are there other types of rewards? Can you compare marine mammal training with other animal species? How do you learn to work with animals? You’ll learn all about it during this session!

• Target audience: preschool education, primary education, secondary education, veterinary higher education, dog clubs, companies, etc.
• Date: weekdays outside the school holidays, from September to April
• Duration: 1 hour. Time in consultation
• Capacity: min. 25 and max. 250 participants
• Price: €7 per person

Package B: Dolphinarium tour

The dolphinarium is more than just a dolphin presentation. Would you like to know exactly how the dolphinarium works? Our caretakers will show you around the fish kitchen, the lab, the engine rooms, etc. They’ll tell you all about our dolphins and sea lions, how they’re trained and cared for and what the dolphinarium does after the presentations or during the winter season.

• Target audience: preschool education, primary education, secondary education, veterinary care and veterinary higher education, etc.
• Date: weekdays outside the school holidays, from September to April
• Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes. Time in consultation
• Capacity: min. 25 and max. 60 participants
• Price: €10 per person
