Bruges Christmas Festival

A unique winter experience for young and old!

from Thursday 26 December ‘24 to Sunday 5 January ’25

During the Christmas holidays, Boudewijn Seapark will be transformed into a wonderful winter park! The BRUGES CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL offers you a unique winter experience full of warmth and magic. Admire the new Christmas presentation with dolphins ‘Aqua Bella’. Go ice skating on the large, indoor ice rink, surrounded by a magnificent winter landscape. Or get carried away by the Christmas magic of the fairylike illuminated outdoor park. A selection of family attractions awaits you here, from the revamped carousel and the thrilling Orca Ride to the cosy merry-go-rounds and cool bumper cars. Also visit the sea lions for a fascinating training session. For the littlest adventurers, there is Bobo’s Indoor, a huge indoor playground with no less than 10 attractions. End your outing with a spectacular fire show in the middle of the park!

The new Christmas presentation with dolphins can also be seen from 21 to 23 December, in combination with admission to Bobo’s Indoor and/or the ice rink. The outdoor park is not open on these days. Tickets can be bought here.

New dolphin presentation

During the Christmas holidays, discover the magical dolphin presentation ‘Aqua Bella’: an unforgettable experience where you come face to face with beautiful bottlenose dolphins. The show amazes and moves: Because Mother Earth desperately needs your help! Together, we take care of nature and find the right balance. Will you join us?
In Aqua Bella, you dive with the dolphins and go on a trip around the world to all the places where they live in nature. Dolphins live in many different places: thanks to their intelligence, they can adapt to many different habitats. In Aqua Bella, you will therefore experience one big adventure in half an hour: you will travel from Africa to Asia and from the deepest jungles to the coldest polar caps. Indoor Ice Rink

Go ice skating on the indoor ice rink in beautiful winter scenery. Boudewijn Seapark’s ice rink is very accessible for families with children. The ice rink provides skates with double irons from size 23 and up, as well as iron skate racks. Parents can of course skate along or have a drink in the adjacent Ice Bar with a view of the ice rink.
Especially for the kids: Bobby the Skating Sleigh. Bobby can be used as a skating aid or as a sledge! Will you come and test him too?

Outdoor attractions

In the fairy-lit outdoor park, you can enjoy a selection of attractions such as the revamped carousel, rollercoaster Orca Ride, hover mills and cool bumper cars.

Sea lions

Also visit the sea lion enclosure for an educational training session. Our caretakers will explain why and how the sea lions are trained.
Did you know that Boudewijn Seapark won the Award for Best Training in April 2024? The caretakers worked for 4 years on the ‘Choice & Control in sea lions’ project. This training technique allows the animals to indicate whether or not they want to cooperate during different training sessions and performances. In this way, Boudewijn Seapark contributes to the development of innovative training techniques for animals in zoos across Europe.

Indoor playground

Bobo’s Indoor is the large indoor playground for children up to 12 years old. The indoor playground is no less than 2,500m² and has 10 attractions. You will find spectacular adventure courses and bouncy castles where you can romp around for hours. There is also a super-sized ball pool, an exciting survival, cool bumper cars and a wave-swinger. Also discover the fantastic attraction ‘Bobo’s Tower’: hoist yourself metres up and then lower yourself safely down again. Don’t forget the ‘Climbing Volcano’! This volcano is no less than 5 metres high and 10 metres wide. Both small and bigger children can climb up here and slide down! Who will hit the top the fastest?

Restaurant

Hungry? Then head to SeaSide restaurant for some Flemish classics such as meatballs in tomato sauce, vol-au-vent or stew. NEW: did you know that you can easily walk from the indoor playground to the restaurant? Parents can relax in the restaurant while the kids continue to romp around in Bobo’s Indoor!

Fancy a snack? For a deliciously juicy burger, visit SeaSide restaurant. Prefer a hot waffle, croque or chocolate milk? Then visit the bar at Bobo’s Indoor, the ice bar and kiosk at the ice rink, and the outdoor park.

• 16.45 – 17.05: fire show, on the grass in the middle of the park
